Tried to call a friend in Louisiana this afternoon and reception was just starting to improve. Maybe it will be back to normal in time for the Liberty Net. Jim |

Jim 20m was not bad either last night - I heard a passel of people from the midwest coming through here in CA like they were next door. That faded after about 0500. |

That band is like a streetfight anyway so any bit of help is very noticeable. |

The sites say a G1 storm is going at 0600z, with pretty high A and K indices, so I'm not too surprised. I listened to CRI relay via Spain tonight on 31m, and the signal was OK at 0300-0400, but after that the band just dropped to where it is now. Oh, well. |

Any reports on whether the G-1 storm has adversely affected HF? Well, I monitored CRI on its 9690 Spain relay 0300-0400z three nights running (4/24, 4/25 and 4/26), and the propagation definitely improved on the latter two nights compared to the first night. On the 24th it was quite touch and go on getting good copy; by the 25th much better, virtually 100%, and last night was cake. Given the high-midlatitude path the signal takes, not surprised that it got bonked the first evening by the storm, even a little G1. So, death to geomagnetic storms! ;-) |
