What about the oil slick?

Aren't they going to burn it off, so that instead of having some greased ducks
along the shore of Chandeleur, Breton or any of the many other swampy islands,
there will be massive respiratory issues with the folk of Gulfport, Mobile,
Pensacola, maybe even Atlanta and any other downwind populated areas?
I hope the ensuing legal repercussions will awaken those greedy exploitative
folk at British Petroleum to be more careful.

This is worse than anything previous. *We may not survive this.

I'm already dead...

Maybe all the carbon based soot will present some interesting
reflective conditions and unexpected reception... stay tunedg

This is more crude than has ever been spilled before. It is in an eddy
off the Gulf Stream, part of the main thermohaline circulation current
around the planet. Specific gravity and salinity are critical to the
THC's ability to regulate global temperatures.

This will also screw up a major part of the marine food chain.

There are some BP gas stations around here. One of them is on Highway 80
at Belvedere Drive/Avenue, that is a mile and a half East, behind
doggy's couch.
I think perhaps three times in my life I have gassed up at BP.It has
been at least fifteen years or more since then.

SCREW BP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was one right here in SF Bay a couple years back; oil tanker
breach. The water was oily looking and birds were getting messed up.

Oil spills are poison to the marine life. They should not be drilling
offshore,if possible. Ther is plenty of oil to be extracted on land.

I agree. I think that diagonal directional drilling may be able to
partially resolve that issue these days. Better yet, let's figure out
some real alternatives to petroleum at the first opportunity.
