OK guys, it's that time of the year again. anyone
heading to Dayton this year? I won't be going. been
about 2 years for me. just don't like the crowds
there, too many people in one spot. been sticking to
the local fests. went to the 2-Rivers and the next
Breezeshooters fest in June. (largest in W.PA.).
it's the season.

I enjoyed going to the Breezeshooters hamfest at the Butler Fairgrounds
regularly until I moved to the West Coast 10 years ago. I really do miss it.
It made for a nice laid back day in the country. Also, I seem to remember
that the organizers really had a nack for picking the same day that a big
thunderstorm would roll through.

When I was a lot younger, i thought rain was a part of the fest. Also,
remember going to the Brasspounders fest. White Swan Park. and, old
McDonalds Crossroads. Gee, I must be getting old, I remember when
Two Rivers was held at/ behind the Green Valley fire-hall/ station.
Wow, that takes me back. another great one was the Goodyear fest at
Wing-Foot Part in Oh-hi. best part about the Goodyear fest was, first
prize was a ride in the blimp! and, last but not least, Tri-counties.
fest, PIE fest, and that big one down West Va. at Wheeling park.
gee, i am getting old. But, the Butler fest has always been a don't
miss for me. got my tickets first of May. always support your local
club; closest to me is the Foothills and Summerset clubs.
