Default CFLs the Reveal-ing Truth [RFI]

Recently bought a 2-Pack of GE Reveal CFL Light Bulbs at Walmart
that were rated at 100 Watt 'replacement' and uses only 26 Watts.

CFL = Compact Fluorescent Light
GE Reveal CFLs are Made in China

Ok so on the back of the package GE 'reveals'

"This product complies with Part 18 of the FCC Rules,
but [B-U-T] may cause interference [RFI] to radios,
televisions, wireless telephones, and remote controls.
* Avoid placing this product [CFL] near these devices.
* Do not install this product [CFL] near maritime safety
equipment or critical navigation or communication
equipment operating between 0.45-30 MHz."

The newer CFLs I have purchased appear to be radio-silent, at least at
HF freqs. Still want LEDs, tho...

Fry's has an LED desk lamp for $22. Kinda bluish but it only uses 3600 mA.

You added a zero, right?

3600 ma = 3.6 A X 120 volts = 432 watts. A mighty powerful desk lamp! :-)

Might have meant milliwatts. 3.6 watts would be about right for a
flood LED.

LEDs are Not So Bright !

LED Wattage -to- Incandescent Light Bulb Watts :

3.6 LED Watt ~ 32 Incandescent Light Bulb Watts

Note that a 3.6 Watt LED is about as 'bright'
as a 'dim' 40 Watt Incandescent Light Bulb.

I shouldn't try to be fancy early in the AM. I meant Milliwatts.

LED Light Bulbs for your home

How about OLED Lighting? Wall and ceiling panels which light up your
home at the flip of a switch, and can be programed to turn on and off
automatically.It's coming, someday soon.

Flat panel TVs took 40 years. Don't hold your breath.

Yeah at $100 a Square Foot for OLED [TV] Lighting
you could do an 8'x10' Wall for $800 and have as
much 'mood' lighting as four 100 Watt Incandescent
Light Bulbs and a Dimmer Switch for $20.

Still waiting on the Electroluminescence (EL)
"Ceilings of Light" that were going to be the
Home Lighting of the 'future' in the 1960s.
