WWVA, out of Wheeling WV. towers went down in Wednesdays storm. they are right now on another freq. so, 1.170 was wide open last night, for anyone in their area. I caught 4 new-to-me id s last night on this freq. I'm east of Pittsburgh, and they weren't that strong here, but, it's wide open right now for DXERs in their area. enjoy. Drifter... Bummer. You're in the skip zone, they normally have a good signal on the East Coast. http://fccinfo.com/CMDProEngine.php?...08625&sHours=N Hi Dave. not so much the skip zone, as they can play hell here in daylight. after dark, that freq really gets busy, and WWVA just seems to ride everyone else. 1.170 is a busy freq in the USA. 10 or 15 years ago they moved their signals around a bit. back during the days of the clears, i would get them like KDKA here. local news at noon here showed all 3 of their towers down. pics should be somewhere on the web. looks like they will be off for awhile.
