Certainly, but commonly referred to as "SAE" (as opposed to metric) in an automotive context. People call drywall "sheetrock" too. I call the old wrenches "English" 'cause that's what I was taught. I've always known SAE is a bolt specification, not a measurement system. |

Just like having a common Slotted [Flat] Screwdriver and a Phillips [Pointed] Screwdriver; but please don't try to use a Phillips on a Reed-and-Prince Screw Head. Plus there are Allen Wrenches [Hex-Key/Head] in both SAE and Metric Sizes too. often in spite of all the 'metric' and 'sae' tools and other fancy devices . . . it all comes down to . . . using a bigger hammer ~ RHF http://www.af.mil/shared/media/ggall...100324-011.jpg |
