Whatever they saw wasn't and couldn't have been molten steel. It's not
possible. What was keeping it molten? Klingon phasers? The Romulan
Plasma Torpedo?

I would love to see the unedited video. I bet it's far different, or
else there are some firemen who didn't know what they were seeing.

Kind of like when you troofers watch the videos and claim it means
something, but often as not, it disproves your claim.
