Default No Soldering Drake SW2 Rotary Encoder Repair

Real easy. Remove the front panel from upper and lower PC boards,
loudspeaker, and ground leads. Carefully bend 4 tabs on back of encoder,
carefully pull back case and contact wheel straight out. Clean contacts
with Q tip soaked in favorite cleaner (Deoxit Gold). Watch out for stray
cotton fibers. Be careful not to get solvent on "bearing" (glob of
grease on shaft ends-no need to mess with that side of things at all.
Also carefully clean silver springy fingers (3 down and one up) with
contact cleaner. Then I give a short spritz of Deoxit Gold on the wheel
face and put it all back together. Deoxit Gold will foam like hydrogen
peroxide when it contacts greasy oxides. This in normal.

So far so good. Works like brand new. Now it's time to take apart the
remote.
