Well thank all of you who helped me decide not to get an active
antenna. As i said i have a Yacht Boy 400 and might not need anything
more than an outdoor antenna. Thanks one and all!..

antenna to your YB 400 or any portable for that matter without the risk of
direct connection(static discharge to your radio). The amount of coupling
is variable to prevent overload.
