There is also 1323 from Cyprus on the air from 0900z to 2300z. Comes in
with the right antenna almost everyday in Jerusalem. (about 230 miles)

Say there, Geoff. You know those Satellites in orbit over Gibraltar? (I
think it is Gibraltar) Can you pick up live Ireland TV and also live
Scotland TV, maybe live Wales TV too? I still wants to buy me a Free To
Air satellite box with the dish and remote.I don't know if I could find
anybody here in backwater hick Jackson,Missy Sippy to set it up properly
for me though.I don't know if I could even watch live Ireland TV and
live Scotland TV from here.A few weeks ago, I was eyballin

Not that I really think dishpointer.com could help me, I just don't
know.

There is a company in the UK which will rent you your own dedicated SlingBox.
This is a box you put in your home and then you can watch TV anywhere you can
get a stream of about 1.5mbits a second on the internet. The company buys a
slingbox, sets it up in their data center and you rent the use of it.

They charge about $300 a year if you buy by the entire year. It's about 1 UKP
a day if you buy by the month.

Sounds dreadfully civilised...

If you try that in the USA they will arrest you.

The FTA signals are "spot beamed" to the UK. Although I could point a dish
out my back at the satellites, there is no signal. Just for an experiement,
I tried to calculate the size dish I would need, and the program gave up at 30
feet.

There are various ways of getting the programs, for example people post them
on filesharing sites and you can download them for free. Google will help
you find them.

The other (but not free) option is to subscribe to one of the services
that connect to the BBC, ITV, etc for you so you look like you are in the
UK and can watch online TV. These are called proxy servers. They go for
around $10-$15 a month.

There is a company in Gibralter for a monthly fee will stream the video
to you. I think it's about the same price as a proxy server.

I might call DirecTV's toll free number one of these days and ask them
about Ireland and Scotland and Wales TV on DirecTV.If that is available
to me, I think it would cost me a lot more money than I could afford.I
would probally have to sigh up for a lot more channels for a lot more
money.
