Usually for a Women the 1st Shot is the Only Shot.

So a .410 Derringer with a Load of # 4 Buck Shot
would be more than enough to put any Attacker
in a Room 'down' with ~10 Pellets {~25 Cal} with
a 2"~3" wide shot pattern and 6"~12" of penetration.

Note : "00" Buck Shot is not recommend for up
close 'In-the-Room' Self-Defense.
