The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur felt Friday evening that it was time for the U.S. government to release U.S. Army Pfc. Bradley Manning from prison. Nineteen months after being arrested, the trial for the Wikileaks information provider finally began on Friday. Manning is facing 22 charges, including “unauthorized release of half a million reports and cables” and “aiding the enemy.” If convicted of the latter charge, Manning could face even the death penalty, despite the U.S. government indicating that no one has been injured from the leaks or that the leaks were classified as top secret. Between the questionable charges and the harsh treatment in jail he has received, Uygur thought it was time to let Manning go. “He did our soldiers a world of good,” he said. “Time served is plenty enough time. Scooter Libby served no time and he betrayed a CIA agent. That caused real harm. Dick Cheney — no time. Karl Rove — no time. It’s time to free Bradley Manning.” AMEN!!! |

Since the citizens of the government of the USA IS the government, we elect public servants to simply carry out their will and act in their best interests, citizens should always be as well informed as possible -- to deny citizens the knowledge and data needed to make informed decisions is, and always will be, a direct action of treason. Lying by omission or deception is still lying ... DUH! Classifying data simply to control the citizens, or for personal gain for public servants and/or their puppet masters, should always be a crime punishable by death ... too many have already managed to put their punishment off, or appear to be escaping them. If you are not a student of practical jokes, you might not know they have a specific formula. A proper practical joke is more than a surprise or a lie. The magic part of the prank formula involves leaving enormous clues that are obvious to everyone but the target of the prank. Dunkirk Today, TET Tomorrow. WEAPONIZING IRONY FOR NEARLY TWO DECADES. BEING THE PERSISTENT MEMORY OF A CONSTITUENCY WHO DESERVING NEITHER PEACE NOR FREEDOM -- IRONICALLY GETS NEITHER. LIBs. What FARCE their Vision? --- History repeating itself, first as Tragedy, then as FARCE. Tragedy: "to leave now we would send a message to terrorists and other potential adversaries around the world that they can change our policies by killing our people. It would be open season on Americans." -- Bill Clinton '93 just before he pulled out of Somalia. Farce: To abandon this area now -- and to rely only on efforts against alQaeda from a distance -- would significantly hamper our ability to keep the pressure on al Qaeda, and create an unacceptable risk of additional attacks on our homeland and our allies. -- OBAMA'09 http://harpers.org/archive/2009/07/0082548 The ironic cloud Irony is a powerful and incompletely understood feature of human dynamics. A technique for dissimulation and secret speech, irony is considerably more complex than lying and even more dangerous. Ideally suited to mobilization on the shifting terrain of asymmetrical conflict, inherently covert, insidiously plastic, politically potent, irony offers rogue elements a volatile if often overlooked means by which to demoralize opponents and destabilize regimes. ... ..... Excitingly, such systems could be understood as the tangible culmination of a 2,500-year humanistic Western project of making words matter. http://www.strangecosmos.com/images/content/420.jpg Depends what your definition of is really *is*.... Such would NOT be tolerated in a Society with a Long Memory. |

It is painfully clear that: * Libby was indicted. * Libby was FOUND GUILTY on 4 of 5 counts. Counts of WHAT, you divot ? Nothing about outing a CIA agent What part of those two simple facts don't you understand? The part where there is NOTHING about outing a CIA agent Apparently you haven't read your own cite. There's only one "****wit" here, and I'm afraid YOU'RE it. Quote from Wikipedia: In October 2005, Libby was indicted by a federal grand jury concerning the investigation of the leak of the covert identity of Central Intelligence Agency officer Valerie Plame Wilson.[3][4][5] Plame's relationship with the CIA was formerly classified information.[3] Libby was indicted on five counts relating to the Plame affair: Two counts of perjury, two counts of making false statements to federal investigators, and one count of obstruction of justice. Libby resigned all three government positions immediately after the indictment was announced.[6] In the subsequent federal trial, United States v. Libby, the jury convicted Libby on four of the five counts in the indictment (one count of obstruction of justice, two counts of perjury, and one count of making false statements) and acquitted on the second count of making false statements.[7][8] Nothing about revealing the identity You seem to be unable to read for comprehension I already said it, it is Liberal Scripture. Take as many screens as you need I'm assuming that everybody who works for Fox doesn't believe Fox's lies. Some sites such as http://mediamatters.org/ that list Fox's lies are of a liberal bent, so I expect you to disregard them. Note that it has a category for Fox news. Others appear to be equal opportunity fact checkers such as http://www.factcheck.org/. It has a search engine where you can enter "fox news" or "NPR" or "NBC". As I said, everyone lies, and this site will find lies from all of the network. But it doesn't take long to find which have the biggest whoppers. Take your time. This unbiased source does a better job than anything I could do. Or Google "Fox News Lies". Go to the video page, and you will find most of the links have actual Fox news video. Admittedly, such a Google doesn't filter out articles from the left. Take your time. Going to the source works better than trusting anybody on this forum. -- "In no part of the constitution is more wisdom to be found, than in the clause which confides the question of war or peace to the legislature, and not to the executive department." - James Madison |
