Zenith flybacks, much more than in other brands, tended to develop internal arcing that caused them to eat themselves in spectacular fashion. I've seen several that had nothing left but a burned coil of copper surrounded by the ashes of what used to be the insulation. |

Whenever my Zenith TV set needed repair I would take it to the Wink Radio and TV Repair shop next door to the Jackson Zoo on Capital Street. I haven't plugged it in since before the analog to digital TV switch over. It was still getting a picture, albeit a sort of a slightly darker picture. Google,,, Shipping Wars One of those guys delivered an old restored wooden cabinet color TV set that worked just like new.
