It was very educational from every perspective. it. Health. Hope, next year. I will be going to the locals. Always support your local clubs. Drifter... It would be trivially easy for me to go, since I'm in Columbus this week. But I looked through a couple of the Dayton threads on QRZ.com and now find myself wondering why anyone ever goes. It looks and sounds like the opposite of fun. Because there's too much to see, or because you think there isn't enough? The closest I got to Dayton was Rochester NY, and that was pretty big forty years ago. Local ones can be fun, but they can also be limited, since only locals attend. A regional one, like Dayton (or is that more like a "national hamfest"?) brings in so many that it just increases attendance. You may not get to everything, but if you were looking for something exotic, it's more likely to be there. Michael |
