Hello I currently have a Sony 2010. I'm thinking about purchasing a Grundig Satellite 800. Is the Grundig significantly better than the Sony? Thank you for your help. Best Wishes Rick H Comparing the two: The Grundig has superior sound and much better bandwidths. The wide bandwidth on the Grundig is very useful whereas on the Sony it is too wide. The medium bandwidth on the Grundig is slightly tighter than the narrow bandwidth on the Sony. The Grundig has the advantage of a 2.3 narrow bandwidth which really helps on SSB. Both are about equal on sensitivity. I prefer the sync detector on the Grundig. When using an external antenna, the Grundig will perform better since it will not overload as easy and has much better dynamic range and blocking abilities. I love my Satellit 800 and sold my Sony 2010. |
