Default Can the RS DX-398 do DRM (w/software) w/o hardware mod?

I want to get the software, but don't really want to upgrade the radio if I
don't have to. Can this Sangean clone output what is needed to my soundcard
for decoding? Please advise.

No, The radio needs a 12 kHz IF output to be used directly with the DRM
software. The DX-398 has no IF output at all.
