APPRECIATED 100%

Thanks,Tom

I had the same problem. I made inside the house several antennes.

Longwire,
dipole with coax feeded, i tried a piece of wire attached to the central
heating system,
a piece of wire attached to the sink etc.. Al that it gave me was very

loud
SW signals
but also very much noice on the band. The noice was as hard as the signals
it worked
terrible.

At last i spent money (50 Euro, or so i think) to a Active shortwave
antenne. You know
those things? It are very short antennes, like one meter long or so or

even
shorter and
there is an antenne amplifier build in. I put that thing on the balcony

and
my reception
was not bad. Noise was signal 0 and signals were good to hear. Very clear
reception
but not much S points ofcourse.

I played with that antenne. I made it longer, shorter etc.. only to come

to
the conclusion
that it was ok as it was and all my experiments didn't make it any better.
Then after a
few weeks i decided to place the thing inside the house. I attached the
ground of the
antenne to central heating with a piece of wire and then i noticed

stronger
signals !

I am now still using this thing. I have not a bad reception on SW around 4
mhz to
20 mhz. It works much better then dipoles and wires and stuff in the

house..

I have heard a loop antenne may give even better results then an active
shortwave antenne.
Loops have a very low noise level. I haven't tried a loop yet. I am happy
with my active
shortwave antenne.

bEST REGARDS.
