FJF: Bill, are you referring to the ARRL's executive action regarding
"incentive licensing" (when they proposed slicing away General class privileges to make way for the newly cordoned-off Advanced and Extra spectra), I think that was it, and I was an Extra then. (In fact, I've been an Extra since 1952.) There were a lot of good General 75M nets messed up by that. Of course, back in 1951, I believe, the Generals, nee Class B, were first allowed in the 75 and 20 Meter bands. (I was a Class A er Advanced at the start of that. I got my Extra just for funsies.) So, to this day, I guess I have mixed emotions about it all. I do dislike any executive action anywhere that counters the popular desire. 73 de K5BY Bill |
