Can any PCR-1000 users offer any commentary on their experience with
it, especially the interface ???

I've tried the other software and have always gone back to the icom
original.
I've also tried the dsp software and now only use the DSP module (ut106).
I only paid $125 for mine - you can get them for around $120. You get what
you pay for. I've had mine for over 3 yrs and love it. Be sure to use an
outside discone if you can and buy the best coax you can afford. The
higher the freq the more critical your coax becomes. The dsp module
won't help much with the higher freqs, but really makes shortwave listening
more enjoyable. I also use Satscape to track the sats. Hope this helps.
