Thanks to the guy that runs that milaircomm site, been listening to
the "Enterprise battlegroup" on 5399. Maybe someone here who is "in
the know" can explain some of this. I hear the ships come on
sometimes, seems that the "main station" is the strongest, I think the
weaker stations are the ships.

They are also being heard on 9213.5

Ok good deal, didn't know they were using anything other but those 2
freqs. 5399 tends to be stronger in my area. Apparently they use these
different frequencies for differ comms.

I think they were getting there orders or directions as the main
station came on and said "no black timber currently active" Sounds to
me like some code names for certain actions. 3 Stations came on
shortly and acknowledged this by "Echo Whiskey Rgr Out" Not sure of
the "Echo whiskey" but these must be the phonetic codes for the
carriers.

Another question:

Why are these using HF anyway? Don't they use sats most of the time?
Or maybe being that this is an excercise they decide to just put it
out in the clear.

Anyway, it is real cool to listen too.
