Grundig has had an excellent name in radio for over 4 decades.

How does one make certain they're getting a "third generation? set. I'd
appreciate any help on this...i.e. if I buy one from Universal Radio, will
that be a 3rd generation???

You can be assurred that if you buy it from Universal it will be 3rd
generation. They will be happy to confirm that by e-mail or phone, as they did
for me.

They are very helpful and have a good rep for customer service.
