"RadioGuy" wrote in message ... OK... Art Bell played a recording of a pulse type noise (buzz) bursts that he said is bothering folks on the west coast; thousands of square miles in extent... I heard him say the noise peaks on 7290 kHz and is a source of irritation to coms on the 40 meter Ham band. Anybody got the straight dope on this that they could pass along. RG HAARP? http://www.haarp.alaska.edu/ It may very well be, however HAARP tends to stay out of the amateur bands. HAARP has been known to broadcast high/low frequency tones on 5800 and on a lower frequency which I can't rememmber at the moment. Perhaps an e-mail to HAARP would be in order, they usually are prompt with responses. |
