Allegedly, they already know what receivers we own and their specs. That's a good point. Most of my radios are 50 years old or more. I'm hoping these radios are of the off the governmental radar screen, just as the SW gold bugs say those really expensive "pre-ban" US gold coins will be safe from confiscation. Anyway, the internet told me the Hallicrafters SX-42/62 radios were derived from a high sensitivity, low radaition WW2 countermeasures receiver. I guess that explains the two RF amps. I should be fine as long as I make sure the local oscillator radiation is still properly supressed. Oh, wait. That's just what they want me to think. Naw... SW radio is a patriot's dream. I wonder what all those air-dropped crank radios were tuned to after their receipt? G Bill, K5BY The crank radios are tuned to the local Clear Channel station. They are being used as decoy radios. The real listening is being done in deep forest bunkers with crystal radios using antennas disguised as trees. Frank Dresser |
