Default BBC says Be polite to Mr Saddam Be polite to Mr Saddam

Be polite to Mr Saddam
By NIC CECIL
Political Correspondent

BARMY BBC bosses have banned reporters from calling tyrant Saddam
Hussein a former dictator.

Instead, staff must refer to the barbaric mass murderer as "the
deposed former President".

It's idiocy like this that eases any concern over loss of the BBC
broadcasts to North America. While I still enjoy some of their
feature programs, the news organization has deteriorated to such a
degree that it's hardly worth trying to find the broadcasts. They
almost make NPR look "fair and balanced."......Well, not really.

Mike,

Makes One Wonder . . .

What the BBC would be saying today about Hitler? and Stalin?

Hmmm.... i'm sure they'd still hang hitler out to dry in thier
publications but i'm sure "komrad" stalin would be quite beloved,
protected, apologized for and covered with complimentary
adjectives before and after each and every incident of his name
in thier reports.

".... the beloved leader of the adoring russian people, Mr. Stalin,
today cried deep tears and had to look deep into his heart for
understanding as circumstances beyond his control forced him,
AGAINST his will, to put another million or so of his fellow
contryment to death.... blah blah blah blah"

Hi,

While in most peoples mind there can be little doubt that
Saddam is guilty of the crimes he will eventually be charged
with, his case is still somewhat 'Sub Judice'. In this
country (the UK), it is normal for the media to play down
the defendants past up to the actual trial. We have just
been through one here involving the murder of a couple of
10-year-old girls and until the final verdict, the fact that
the guilty party had a record of prior unproven sex offences
was not mentioned.

thank you for giving a first-hand account of what politically
correct socialism will bring to a country.

This 'innocent till proven guilty' is one of the things
that separates 'us' from 'them'.

....however, the problem is, the term "dictator" doesn't
necessarily mean "guilty"... while the term does often have
negative connotations, it has nothing to do with whether
or not he was guilty of everything that the world does in
fact know he did.

There is no way in all of creation that you can show a
logical argument for hiding the negative word "dictator"
in order to first withold judgement on saddam being
guilty of throwing people into wood chippers, gassing
tens of thousands of your own people, tossing people
of a roof for sport while filming it, defying the UN
resolutions for over a decade and countless other
violations of just down right human decency.. you can
be a dictator and not do those particular vile things. You
can simply be a dictator by being an unopposed autocrat
in your nation (by definition).

this is, imho, just another bit of evidence that the BBC
has a very strong bias in this affair.

The BBC is obviously run by anti-american socialists,
and i'll bet a peppering of left-wing pinko communist
scumbags too.

Is that something rattling in your head?

yes... that, along with a lot of other facts that cause socialists
to cringe and squirm.

Facts are to socialists what crosses are to vampires.

I get the impression that their politics are so radically far to
the right that even UK right-wing politicians look like "left-wing
pinko communist scumbags" to them.
It is best that any country not be dominated by either end of the
political spectrum, so that common sense might prevail.
