Radio Congo
Radio Congo on 5985, seemingly with a crash start at 0430, opening
announcement and into hi-life music. Co-channel interference from an yet unid'd station, but a good signal overall. 11 January 2004 Steve Holland, MI Drake R7, R8 and R8B |

Then at 0455 WYFR came back up on the frequency with a killer signal, *0500 with Mandarin beamed to Asia. I'd forgotten how much I disliked WYFR! I recall sitting around with other DX'ers at DXpeditions in the 80's fantasizing about launching an assault on their transmitter site, and taking the transmitters out. Pesky little devils. At times I think they have around 10 transmitters going out of there. Reminds one of the old days when Radio Moscow occupied a lot of channels, much as the Chinese do today.
