I can remember the (in)famous Newsweek cover
which read, in bold print, something along the lines of: "THE COMING ICE AGE." The nutcases can't make up their minds, but are trying to regulate our lives, based upon junk science. 73, S.L. Not a trace of Info supporting Global Warming.
There is some global warming, but it is NOT man-caused. See The Hockey Stick: http://www.vision.net.au/~daly/hockey/hockey.htm Bill, K5BY |

Bill [K5BY],
Thank You - Now I know the Difference between 'Scientific Facts' and "SCIENTISM" when it comes to the Issue of Global Warming. "The `Hockey Stick': A New Low in Climate Science" - by John L. Daly GoTo= http://www.vision.net.au/~daly/hockey/hockey.htm NOTE: Have placed this on my RMR = Rapid Message Recall (RMR) List. I now have the: "What About the 'Medieval Warm Period' and the 'Little Ice Age'"; as counter points to the 'Evironmental Wackos' claims about Global Warming. Plus being able to tell an 'Evironmental Wacko' making claims about Global Warming:. "Have You been out in the Sun Too Long? Do You have Sun Spots Imprinted on your Brain? Do You Know anything about the 'Maunder Minimum' and diappearence of Sun Spots for 70 Years? Well Do You? Do You !" But the Great Fun will be being able to say to them and repeating these two words: "hockey sticks, Hockey Sticks. HOCKEY STICKS !" while waving my arms about in the air and bulging my eyes out )jftfoi ~ RHF .. .. = = = (WShoots1) = = = wrote in message ... Not a trace of Info supporting Global Warming. ... Soames123 wrote: http://magma.nationalgeographic.com/...re2/index.html That's all quite interesting, but as most any educated person knows, the earth has had warm spells and cold spells off and on throughout its life. The historical and geological records bear this out. And man wasn't even around for a lot of them. It is only the uneducated public (tin foil hat crowd) that really buys into Global Warming as a truly manmade occurrence. They are easy prey for the huxters, who fleece them whilst they are consumed by their ignorance of simple concepts. But hey! Don't lose any sleep over it! Steve Holland, MI Drake R7, R8 and R8B "I swear by, not at, Drake receivers" © http://www.iserv.net/~n8kdv/dxpage.htm It amazes me that so many apparently quite intelligent people can completely embrace the idea of greenhouse gas emissions having no effect at all on the global climate. Variations occur naturally over time; that has never been in dispute. However, the physical properties of CO2 are very well known, and we're adding a lot to the atmosphere every year. It would be nice if some natural process is cancelling out the effects of all that extra CO2. I hope it is, for our sake, but having a closed mind to the issue isn't going to make it go away. Anyway, does anyone know if higher average temperatures will have any effect on shortwave propagation? Or other frequencies, like Sporadic 'E' in the summer? |

Well, from this we can ascertain that the wearing of a tin-foil hat in no way cuts down on an individuals ability to experience amazement. Steve Holland, MI Drake R7, R8 and R8B In fact, scientific knowledge forms the basis of our modern civilisation. All that technology we conveniently use in our everyday lives (including your shortwave radio gear) is the result of scientific research. You can't dismiss one complete branch of science without dismissing it all (and going to live in a cave), because that would make you a hypocrite. Strange questions about tin-foil hats are unacceptable as a means of persuading other people to change their minds about the causes of global warming. This does your case no good at all. I would have thought that to be self-evident. Good DX my friend. Ian, Renfrew, Scotland. |

Tin-foil hats or not, what you fail to see is that my case is sound, while yours is flawed... get over it. :-) |
