-9 here in MN this AM. Winchill only -30.
"DJ" wrote in message ... It was 2 here (nw indiana) this morning. Talk about Burrrrrrrrrrrrr! "Burr" wrote in message link.net... Beautiful Day over Here, Today is what postcards are made of. I sat at the breakfast table looking out over snow covered hills and mountains with the frost melting and dripping off my roof pass the window. The sky is as clear as it could every be, its 45 degrees and warming fast. As I ate, the hummingbirds were feeding 18 inches from my plate at their feeder, rabbits were feeding in the yard and the cat from across the street is crawling in for breakfast also. |

![]() Riding a Bicycle in -5 weather . . . - so cold the tires might just shattter.. How did you unfreeze your face ?? Well, it's not _that_ cold. Had a face mask, no face was no problem, but legs got friggen cold (blue jeans). Actually walked back to work the next day with a different car battery in a back pack ... temp was 0 F, but with a big hooded parka, it wasn't too bad (3 miles). Although my legs got fairly tired lugging that bugger up the hills. :^] jw wb9uai Milwaukee (and yes, finally got car started ...whoohoo!) |

- Need to find a proper SW radio for walking around in these conditions..
I'd probably get pulled over for looking too weird. Out walking at zero degrees farenheit is weird enough, but adding a big whip antenna to my backpack would surely get some attention ! jw wb9uai milwaukee (so many things to fix ... so little time) |

Had my eTR7 outside today (Sunday). With the wx sunny and 74F, I sat on my
porch, eating a baby pizza, drinking a beer, and surfing the SW bands.12, 15, and 17 MHz were open. Life is good in SE Texas. Bill, K5BY |

-9 here in MN this AM. Winchill only -30. I went grocery shopping the other night when the temperature was -5/F. When I came out of the store with the groceries, I decided to do an experiment. I tied a one gallon bottle of juice to the car's roof rack and drove home. The wind chill was at least -50/F when the car was moving. When I got home the juice was almost frozen solid. It went from room temperature to frozen in 15-minutes. It would take at least two hours to do that in a refrigerator freezer. -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- |
