In message s.com, Ole
Bridge-Gums writes "King Pineapple" wrote in message news ![]() Chairman of the Board of Governors of the BBC- Gavyn Davies- just resigned. January 28, 2004 BBC Management "Almost in Meltdown" What you are not aware of, is that unlike in the United States, most media in the United Kingdom is 100% State Owned. The BBC is an agency of the British Government. As such anyone who does not adhere with the party line, or steps on too many toes in Parliament is politely "asked" to resign. Hehe! Where do you get this ******** from? It would not suprise me at all if Gavyn Davies was summoned to a MP's office (Member of Parliament) and his 'Letter of Resignation' was already written and waiting for his signature on the desk. This type of termination (sacking) is common practice in the UK and fully legal under British Law. 'A' MP's office? Illiterate as well as ill-informed! Mike -- M.J.Powell |
