I have heard V. of the Islamic Republic but not recently, and never in
English - usually in Farsi. I remember hearing english from Israel when I
lived in The Federal Republic of Germany - my dad was stationed there. It
was the only foreign QSL I ever got. I don't remember what ever happened to
it S.

Maximus,
Though rocky at a few times in history, overall there have been good
relations between Iran and Israel. Though smaller now than during the
times of the Shah, there is also a notable Jewish population that
dates back to Persian times. Under current Islamic rule, you are
right though that life for Jews in Iran is not what you could call a
cozy existance.

Kol Israel is a decent catch, I haven't been able to get a good signal
from them in months - granted I don't try every day though. Have
never been able to receive Voice of Iran - is it even still operating?

I looked at the links and discovered they do have a broadcast to Iran in
farsi, but not at 17:00 . I find that interesting. I didn't think there

were
that many jewish people in Iran - that can't be a comfortable

predicament.

Their site (http://israelradio.org/sw.htm) does not show it, but EiBi
(http://eibi.gmxhome.de/hp/bc-b03.txt) shows Hungarian at that time.
Otherwise
the 'official' site shows no usage of 11605 at that time.

a woman reading what sounded
like news. Suddenly cut off. I then checked 11.585 and there was an
english
broadcast of news read by a man, but the signal was not as strong

or
readable.

I heard a broadcast from India in english as well, but as they got

to
the
point of a voice clip discussing an "islamic bomb" the broadcast

was
cut
off
abruptly. Unfortunately I did not write down the frequency, but it

seems
ominous to me that it got cut off at just that point , givne the

state
of
affairs between Pakistan and India at this moment.
