If the person is a creative troll, he will keep changing his header info to
get around killfiles.

The best solution I've found (in Xnews) is to find something in his header
that is the same in all his posts, and killfile him using the score file.
It works a treat, because there is almost always going to be something
that's the same.

Then, never announce that you have successfully killfiled him, because
he'll find a way to get around it.

Jim:
You really don't have to: if everyone would stop responding to the jerk, he
would go away almost instantly. The best policy might be to killfile those
who respond to him.

I'm aware of THAT method. I have killfiled the responders also. Every so
often, "they" change servers, I guess. Some people need more meds than
others, I guess

How about the recent scatalogical "Shortwave Newsgroup Poll" troll? Did
you killfile all those responders?

The only problem I have with that method is that people who do post useful
information also tend to respond to trolls (myself included). I do agree
that if nobody ever replied to a troll they'd quickly leave, but it seems to
be an unrealistic expectation.
