Degen 1102 vs DX396

My Radio Shack DX396 is going increasingly deaf so I'm thinking about
ordering a Degen 1102 on ebay from China. If there's anybody here who
has both radios can you tell me how they compare? I see that the Degen
has SSB which the 396 does not.
