Hm, what do you mean by "financially motivated"? I don't work for Degen or
Kaito, and wasn't paid to review my KA1102. Do you mean its low cost makes
it *seem* like a better deal than it really is?

I can only speak from personal experience, but I can tell you that I have
had a chance to compare my KA1102 to several other radios I own, and it
performs just as well as my other radios on all of the stations I've had a
chance to check out thus far... both on AM and SSB. So yes, I think the
DE1102/KA1102 is a great value for the price. I like my KA1102 as much as my
ATS 505, but the 505 cost quite a bit more.
