One expects such a large radio with so much energy-intensive circuitry to
suck down the batteries.. most boom-boxes have atrociously short battery
life. I find the Grundig YB-400 to be especially bad on batteries.. even if
you don't use the radio, the batteries will die within a couple weeks or
so.. and if you do use it, you get far less than 20 hours (of course, those
are AA, and not D size.. )




That's funny, I've got a YB-550PE that's quite energy-efficient. I only
have to change the batteries in this thing about every other month.
