Can anyone recommend a good repair shop in the Los Angeles area for 1940s era
tube sets?

Another good place to ask is rec.antiques.radio+phono. It's mostly radio
repair hobbyists there. If your radio is one of the communications
receivers from that era, you can also ask at rec.radio.amateur.boatanchors.

repair hobbyists there.


But none of them (or the boatanchor group) will offer to fix it.
