Another good place to ask is rec.antiques.radio+phono. It's mostly radio
repair hobbyists there. If your radio is one of the communications
receivers from that era, you can also ask at rec.radio.amateur.boatanchors.

FWIW, I believe Frank made the suggestion on the basis that the folks
on those groups would have a better/broader insight to the need than
the general shortwave population.
