Today (Sunday, 18 Apr 04), here in SE Texas, I got very good copy of Radio
Nacional Venezuela (RNV) on 13 750 kHz. I tuned in at 1700 and had to tune out at around 1830. It was still going strong. I had alerted a Venezuelan-American friend in Flagstaff, AZ, but, with her poor antenna system feeding her YB300SE, the signal was weak. She was excited about it, though, so she tuned in to it on the Internet. Then, via IM, she interpreted for me the proceedings, while I listened to it on SW. Her (via satellite?) feed was a few seconds behind the SW, which is normal. It was an upbeat, multi-national conference hosted by President Chavez. One of the things discussed was the desirability of the formation of the United States of South America. Chavez believes the whole Western Hemisphere is America, which it is. 73, Bill, K5BY |
