"Soames123" wrote in message ... Prince Bandar Assists Bush in re election bid Last night on CBS's 60 Minutes, Bob Woodward, senior editor at the Washington Post, said Saudi Arabian Prince Bandar pledged to increase Saudi oil production and thereby lower gas prices just before the 2004 election. Is this payback for the Bush " Hands Off The Saudis" approach to terrorists?? This pledge has cost U.S. consumers literally billions of dollars in higher gas prices. - But HEY !! " W " wins in November, So Screw YOU Some people will believe anything, no matter how ridiculous. |

LENNY,
When interviewed today, Prince Bandar said that this was NOT a 'promise', but a general "Pledge" that the Saudi Arabian Government (Royal Family) has made to each US President since Jimmy Carter. That the 'price' of Oil and therefore the "Price" of Gasoline would not be a factor during the US Presidential Election period. Just the Facts ~ RHF .. .. = = = "Lenny" wrote in message = = = ... Is this payback for the Bush " Hands Off The Saudis" approach to terrorists?? Is that as opposed to the eight-year Clinton " Hands Off The Saudis" approach to terrorists? Or shouldn't I expect you to bring that up? This pledge has cost U.S. consumers literally billions of dollars in higher gas prices. And exactly how has that happened? |

One would think that Kerry (of all people), as a federal representative and north-eastern resident, would have noticed somewhere over the past few decades that the gas prices have followed a cyclic pattern each year. They rise in the spring (the holiday/driving season begins) and drop in the fall (the holiday/driving season ends). Is it possible he doesn't understand/believe in our supply & demand economy? I doubt it. Is it possible that he jumped on a negative campaign item without thinking about it? Is there no one in Kerry's campaign that would have the presence of mind to mention, "Uh, Boss? That price drop happens every year like clock-work, for both repub and dems - and it will undoubtedly happen if you get elected"... Kerry is prone to knee-jerk reactions as evidenced by his history of flip- flops. I wonder when he will realize this claim is laughable and retract his veiled condemnation. It will be interesting to watch him wear his "contempt" mask as he attempts to spin a historical economic cycle as insidiousness on the part of Bush... Without looking like an idiot... Kerry's a smart guy - He just has no control over his penchant for slinging dirt. This time the oil prices started to go up well before spring, when they should have been at their lowest. Prince Bandar doesn't deny what Woodward says. However he (Bandar) did say that Saudi Arabia has historically tried to lower oil prices before a presidential election to get the incumbent reelected. -----= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =----- http://www.newsfeeds.com - The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! -----== Over 100,000 Newsgroups - 19 Different Servers! =----- |

Day #4,
Today on the PBS "News Hour" Bob Woodward did another follow-up interview with Gwen Ifill to 'clarify' his earlier comments on 60 Minutes and what is actually written in his book "Plan of Attack". Gwen Ifill's questions were interesting becaused they were based on what Woodward had really written in his book. FWIW: It now appears that Mike Wallace did NOT read the book for himself. Just the Facts {Except for the Fiction} ~ RHF .. .. = = = (RHF) wrote in message = = = . com... SOAMES 123, Here today on KGO 810AM Talk Radio "the Liberal Voice" of the SF Bay Area. The 'host' Pete Wilson said that it was obvious the Mike Wallace was 'slanting' the Bob Woodward interview on the 60 Minutes TV Program. Today Bob Woodward had to recant what he said in the 60 Minutes interview as being inconsistent with the overall tenor of his book. When it comes to 'political' Topics, 60 Minutes has become the voice of the Liberal Media Elitist. Just the Facts ~ RHF . . = = = (Soames123) wrote in message = = = ...
