I have a Sony 7600. Is the 7600GR worth getting, if I already have a
regular 7600?

Is the only difference the timer?

GR has 100 presets.

The biggest difference, and one that is almost never mentioned, is
that, in addition to having more memories, those memories are
non-volatile. In other words, you can take out the batteries for as
long as you like and, while the clock will naturally have to be reset,
your memory frequencies will still be there. This is very important if
you wish to remove the batteries for any reason and is the major
reason I "upgraded" to the 'GR. (I still have my 'G's.)

The Sony ICF-SW35 also has the non-volatile memory feature, as do many
table radios, including the Grundig Satellit 800.

What do you mean by "regular 7600"?
[ ] ICF-7600
[ ] ICF-SW7600

If it's the first, the answer is a resounding yes.
If it's the second, you'd still win 1 kHz steps, synch detection, many
more memories and improved image rejection. So if you want to stay in
the "7600 class", an upgrade would be worth it here, too.
