Default Question on the Drake R8B Buttons

Dan Graves wrote:

I think I remember reading a few years ago, that the buttons on the
Drake R8B receiver don't feel real solid or something. Is this still
true?

Thanks,
Dan

The R8B buttons have a slight spongy feel to them, not unlike some other
devices, such as certain brands of remote controls. However the Drake
buttons seem to be more particular about how you push them. If you don't
push straight in, it sometimes fails to register. This is actually quite
rare. The R8B buttons are much better than those on the SW8. I had to do
a mod' on the SW8 buttons to make them reliable. I wouldn't be too
concerned about the feel of the button's on the R8B unless you are
really particular about how the button's on a communications receiver
'should' feel.
