![]() "Mike Terry" wrote in message ... (Any shortwave outlets now please?) Most of the big names in domestic SW use it as a fill in to their local network coverage. It would make sense for Air America to do the same, but they prefer satellite, maybe because one of their executives has expirence working with Dish network. I think SW would work for AA's intended audience, just as it works for the other political talk show hosts. It could even boost satellite receiver sales, as they could broadcast their programming to a national audience and promise clearer and more reliable reception from a satellite service. Press reports suggest that control of troubled US liberal talk radio network Air America is on the verge of returning to its original owners. Sheldon and Anita Drobny, the Chicago couple who founded the network but sold it to a group of investors before broadcasts began, are said to be poised to re-acquire a majority shareholding with the help of a major new investor. [snip] I hope the Drobny's make alot of money out of the deal. Sell high, buy back low! Frank Dresser |
