Roger that. I've heard three stations on the same graveyard
channel with my "Stupor Radio Three," as I like to call it.
It's quite a good little radio. I want to build a marker generator
for this thing. I wish I could make the dial alignment a little
better - I've realigned it twice, but guess I'll have another go,
one of these days.

No question about the dial... I wish the SR-III was digital. IMO, that is
the major draw back of the SR-III. Instead of the CCrane antenna, I may
decide to buy the CC Radio Plus instead. Having a digital radio will
probably be more of a boost to my medium wave DXing then getting another
feritte bar for my SR-III that already has a nice big one in it.

I'm pretty much in a Faraday cage and my only "window" to the
radio world is a 4'x8' window to the South which doesn't open.

I have a CCradio+ a couple feet from me and the CCrane AM Antenna
up in the window (where the top and bottom come together and form
a little ledge).

The CCrane AM Antenna increases = EXTREMELY = the quantity and
quality of stations, both daytime and nighttime.

One of my friends has a CCradio and the AM Antenna in a wood
frame house and the AM Antenna barely helps with his CCradio but
has = DRASTIC = improvements when used with other AM radios he
has.

Having a digital radio will
probably be more of a boost to my medium wave DXing then getting another

That would be what I'd do. I don't begrudge the money I spent on
the CCradioPlus at all; it was a nice addition and in my peculiar
case, the CCrane antenna is a big help but I might could build a
shelf up in the window and stand on a ladder to tune it and have
the same reception with just the CCradio (grin).

I agree. The only weak point I have seen with mine is that it does not
"null" signals as well as a premium loop antenna.

STINGER,

"I agree. The only weak point I have seen with mine is that

This is why I describe the CCrane {Justice} AM/MW Twin Coil
Ferrite Rod Antenna as a 'great' "Signal Magnet" for locations
with poor AM/MW Reception problems.

RHF,

Very true. It is a very impressive "signal magnet," and the footprint of it
on my nightstand is only about the size of a coffee cup, and mine stays
hooked up to my Super 909. With a CCRadio+, the 909, and a Sony SW07 on
that nightstand, I just don't have room for even a select-a-tenna.

By the way, I know you're a fan of the Grundig S-350. I've heard that the
ferrite antenna in it is either the exact same (or a VERY similar
reproduction) of the twin coil antenna in the Crane AM antenna. Of course,
it doesn't boost signals the same way (tunable antenna), but that does help
to explain the excellent MW sensitivity of that radio.

FO&A,

"Instead of the CCrane antenna,
I may decide to buy the CC Radio Plus instead."

The CCRadio and the CCRadioPlus both have a 200mm (8") AM/MW
Ferrite Rod Antenna just like the GE Superadios.

IMO, the CCRadio+ is grossly overpriced. It's well built and has a lot
of nice features, but it's not remotely close to "the best AM radio",
and is not a particularly good value for the money. The biggest problem
is the single filter that's as wide as a barn door. If you want to hear
a weak distant station next to a strong local one, you can pretty much
forget it. It's also more susceptible than it should be to strong
signal overload. It does okay off the internal antenna, but hook up a
good external antenna and a strong local signal will blanket the dial.

Unless you need the TV/weather bands or have some other specific use for
one of the CCRadio special features, I'd recommend looking at the
Grundig S350. It's analog tuning with a digital display. It has two
filter widths to help in reducing interference from neighboring
stations. It sounds better than the CCRadio (though, the CCRadio can
play louder without distortion). It also brings SW to the party. And, if
you're willing to pull out all the stops, Kiwa has audio and filter
upgrades available.

I *KNOW* that for an absolute fact because I had the CCRadio and one of my GE
P-780s both on the same turntable with the same 30x30 loop and it was ike
taking a knife to a gunfight.

It wasn't even fair, take away the loop- and the difference was even bigger in
favor of that old GE radio.

They can keep the CCRadio, it cracks me up when I hear them say that on the
radio....lol....they should be sued for fraud IMO.
