Icom makes some outstanding receiver sections.
My 746pro is easily the best radio I have ever owned with its IF DSP,
preamps and notch filters. They do not get much better. The rig has good
audio with the internal speaker and it gets even better with a nice external
speaker.

I have heard nothing but good things about the R75 and if anyone is
considering a solid high quality SWL radio I would surely recommend it. If
you want to step up to more receiver features and potentially an Amateur
license, grab a late serial number 746pro. The bang for the buck on these
radios is unmatched. 73,

Hi Dave:Why a late serial number? Are some upgrades available in the
latest s/n Icom 746Pro? What upgrades?
