I want a really good, portable, FM radio. I live in NYC, and I have lots of reception/interference problems. I was hoping the Sony 100s would be a good choice for my needs. Anybody got any opinions on how it functions as an FM radio (i.e. as an expensive Walkman). Thanks, -barry I tried ALL of the shortwave portables regarding their FM performance. The very best ( testing with ears only!!) is the SANGEAN 909. You have to learn how to manipulate the whip antenna. I get stations with this radio that others only come in with an attic antenna.
