Hello, First thing is to make sure they know how to properly wire the rigs; with new cars' domputer controlled systems, your auto could be severy damaged. Try looking for an independent shop thats been in business for a while, Don't go to a chyain operation (Circuit City) etc. You might ask your dealership for a reccomendation. Also don't forget proper antenna installation and cable routing. On some autos you may need an upgrade to a more powerful alternator, and posiblr an additional fuse box. In my area (Maryland) I know of only one business that has over 40 years experience witheauto radios (mostly dtereos)and aalarm systems and they have the proper equipment to do installations.
