built your 10:1 balum about 2 months ago. use it
on a long wire, about 110 ft from the house/ down the middle of the back yard. works great. now for the question! picked up a dx-ultra/alpha delta at the last hamfest. new in the bag for $50. not bad. this ant is made to run as an inverted V. coax off the center. if i hang the center about 10 ft above my roof off a tripod, and run the 2 legs to the left and right side of my back yard/ the long wire will be about 10 ft below the center and the legs will go off to the sides about 35 degrees. (whew!) the question is will the long wire have any affect on the inverted V? i know for transmit this would be bad/ how bout only receive? hope i explained this so you can understand what i mean... thanks Steve...
