Default do you need a licence

CRAP!!!!
I have been using HF/2Mtr on SSB and Morse both on transmit and receive for
over 15 years, I have over 1500 QSL cards, never had a licence, nor never
will. Why should I take some pathetic test and pay for a licence. I bought
the gear and antennas, thats enough, I certainly do not intend to *pay the
government* for the privilidge of using it.
This ******** about some assholes crusing around *pinpointing* illegal
operators is crap and you know it. OK, just say for argument sake that some
of these ficticious licensed ham pillocks knock on your door, What are they
going to do? nothing they can do! I would just tell them to ****-off.
If they reported you to the authorities FIRST thing they got to do is find
your gear, (it is NOT against any law to own ham radio equipment, licenced
or not.) Then they gotta prove in a law court that it was actually you
transmitting. I don't think the government would waste their time.
Face it, there are thousands of unlicened Hams out there, always has been,
always will be.
Like I said, I will NEVER pay any government money to speak to a guy in a
different country on my own equipment from my own home. Neither will I take
any goddam stupid test, thats for schoolkids.
No, you carry on transmitting Corwin, assholes to the FCC and the other
sheep who simply go to all the bother of taking a test and paying out hard
earned $$ just to get a piece of paper with some number on it that you stick
on your radio-shack wall. I prefer to hang pictures from Playboy on my shack
wall.

I doubt seriously if he has any QSL cards, let alone 1500, since QSL's are
almost always sent to the address found in a callsign lookup. (and every ham
I know does a callsign lookup on anyone they contact).

Don't have to explain anything to anyone, but for what its worth I send the
first qsl card, state that I am a new ham and not in the callbook yet, they
send their qsl card to my po box number, never fails.
now you can come back with as many stupid remarks as you lke, I couldnt give
a toss, I shall still carry on transmitting and receiving qsl cards
unlicenced. and that is how I intend to stay. If you licenced hams feel good
with your pathetic little piece of paper then good for you
best wishes

How about posting the calls of say 50 or 100 of those stations you
received QSLs from along with the call you used with date and time. It
won't be hard to verify some of them to see if you are telling the truth.

That's what I've been trying to tell these folks for a while now. There is
no need to bother with
the license. We have enough governmont intervention with stuff.
I can see the need to be licensed to operate an automobile or fly an
airplane but
to sit in my home and talk on a radio....**** that. Don't need no stinkin'
ticket.
I can transmit and recieve morse code clearly. Have been for years.
I stay polite and on topic on the radio. I am every bit as knowledgeable
and
professional as ticketed hams. You could never tell us apart. I too, have
about 1000
QSL cards. In spite of what people here say, you DO get them sent to your
address.

It's all a bunch of poo. Just get your gear, learn the ropes properly and
transmit away.
Just do it properly.

================================================== ==============

Sounds like you are not harming the airwaves much. That's nice.

Just wanted to point out that by not getting your license it is your
loss. There is *much* more to an Amateur Radio license than a piece of
paper and operating on HF. Besides all the other modes of operation it
is also a community with activities, events, and commradarie.

I've made many friends, some while taking the exams. I wouldn't trade
this experience for the world. But you miss out on all of this if you
never get licensed.

With regard to supporting the government with license fees, that's
horse****. A ten year license costs about ten dollars. It costs the
FCC much more than that just to maintain license records. So in fact
our government is supporting your interest in radio.
