Same answer every time. The DX-399.

All
I know is that, of all my radios, the one I would choose for a
backpacking/bicycle/motorcycle/Eurail/car tour of Europe or across the
US would be the DX-399.

It is the size of a paperback book,

A small paperback at that. I have to agree, that is my first choice if going
out and needing something small, nothing even really comes close to it IMO.

Only drawback is lack of ssb, but that is it, if that isn't a concern it is the
smartest choice.

Just my opinion.

I'll toss my hat in for the Sony 7600GR. Terrific little portable! Mine has
toured Southeast Asia and the Czech Republic so far.

Hello,

I would appreciate any inputs regarding a good radio to buy that is
small for travel, covers the international SW broadcast spectrum, as
well as standard AM, Fm, and has good sensitivity. Sound quality is
not important.

Thank you for any inputs.
