Eton FR300
I noticed that Radio Intel has posted a bit on the upcoming Eton FR300 (
http://www.universal-radio.com/catal...alty/0032.html ). While the shortwave bands have been removed, the radio is potentially much more useful in an emergency--TV VHF audio and weather band have been added. The filament bulb has been replaced by a tri-LED light. This sounds like a much better emergency radio than the FR200, which is more of a radio to take camping. I know that if I was in Florida and crazy enough to ride out hurricanes, I'd rather have TV audio and the weather band to get emergency information. Eton (or Radio Shack, who seems to like to sell these things) could have made a killing if they'd had the foresight to introduce the FR300 in the spring. |
