And I'll be there to pick up the pieces

Hey, I pick up plenty of good DX stations down here in Florida but no luck for Lucky so far with LP. Hang in there, you'll catch the Poacher. Should be up at 1200 on 16084, 15682 and 14487. dxAce Michigan USA |

Heard here on all three frequencies with the 'Poacher Tune', weak. dxAce Michigan USA |

OK!
Finally heard her on 15682 but, I had to use the 4Khz AM filter to hear it. Very, very faint. I could make out the tune well but the numbers were hard to recognize. I turned off AGC and adjusted the RF gain. Need to use headphones for sure. But finally! I heard it. Looks like I need to use the 4Khz filter. Lucky "dxAce" wrote in message ... It merely depends on what frequencies LP is using, and the propagation conditions at the time from Cyprus, the supposed location of LP. I've been hearing them on all frequencies used since start-up this morning at 1200. The ONLY time I might have a problem here with one or more of the frequencies used is if LP shifts to something like 5xxx MHz in my early afternoon, when the signal might not propagate. dxAce Michigan USA |

Thanks. I find it amazing I'm picking this up from England. I wonder what
receiver these use themselves to get the code. I'm also surprised no one has broken the code yet to some degree. Lucky "dxAce" wrote in message ... Lucky wrote: OK! Actually, the transmission is coming from Cyprus, or possibly some other Eastern Mediterranean site, but most likely from Cyprus. dxAce Michigan USA |

That's still nice and far away though. Ever hear any CIA transmissions?

Lucky
( & Congratulations, BTW ) - I don't think the transmitters in England; I think in Cypress ( Do A google search on Linconshire Poacher ) And , they're probably using a " One Time Pad" snyched for a specific day .. probably short messages anyway; no time to have a real conversation... Well, I checked 5746 after receiving your post and they were not there.
Hmm, imagine that. Can't be heard in Michigan but can be heard in Cincinnati on two of three freqs that were/are incorrect. When I get some time, I'll check the 'correct' freqs ;-) |
