I also have a 4:1 balun, for whatever reason...I only used it once and it went into the closet. I got it out last week. To you and the more knowledgable in here. What exactly would a 4:1 balun be used for? I figured to string up some wire or dipole and be able to run coax into your shack. I'm sure there is a better reason. ;-) A 4:1 balun is commonly used with a folded dipole, but has other uses as well. dxAce Michigan USA |

well. you could just run a buttload of wire to it though couldn't you Steve and then run your coax to the receiver? I read up about them. I know when I was persuaded to get it, it was in the thinking of some day txing on it. |

One can run a 'buttload' of wire to most anything. However it will not necessarily work well. dxAce Michigan USA http://www.iserv.net/~n8kdv/dxpage.htm I read up about them.
