The TS-450 is "not bad" :-)
Especially somewhat older HAM-Equipment -like the TS-450- is optimized
to receive on HAM-bands and nearby freqs.
Compare it with receivers of the same period for 1/2 to 2/3 of the price
when it was new.

A used NRD-535 you can get for around 1000 US$, add perhaps one or two
additinal IF-filters of your choice for around 250 US$ and you will be
satisfied.
Better receiver you will only find on the surplus market for at least
the double value. Have a look an some Harris, Siemens or Rohde&Schwarz
stuff... ;-)

Hi Volker, thanks for the reply..If I'm spending $1,000 I may as well just sell
the ts450 and get that ts-870 I've been wanting..I have to guess that the
current hf rigs have pretty good receivers in them..I would hope
anyway...Thanks again for the reply..

Steve
